This connection has led Forcine to add two new services to their offerings, shotcrete and hollow bar anchors, through the acquisition of R&W Concrete Inc.
Forcine Founder Brian Forcine initiated the idea of acquiring R&W Concrete Inc., seeing it as an opportunity to expand Forcine’s capabilities and strengthen the solutions the company could offer clients.
“Bruce and I had known each other for about 25 years, and we have been subs to each other for about that long,” Brian said. “My interest in R&W was that we felt that it was very important to diversify our portfolio with their expertise to offer more to our clients”.

“It’s an alignment of trade partners who share the same principles and values, but it also creates new opportunities for our people,” said Rich. “It’s a chance for our workforce to gain new skills and continue growing within the company. Caring for the long-term growth and development of our workforce was something we saw reflected in R&W as well. It made them a natural fit for our team.”
Reputation of success
With over 30 years of experience in the industry, R&W Concrete Inc. built a team of expert craftsmen and reputation for curiosity and excellence in specialty concrete work. They excelled at difficult vertical builds using little to no formwork. Traditional methods were adequate for this work, but founder/CEO Bruce Wilson’s determined spirit led him on a journey to find a more efficient method.
Bruce discovered shotcrete, a high velocity placement method, and hollow bar anchors, a minimally invasive stabilization method. These tools changed the trajectory of his career, allowing him and his team to complete complex jobs in less time and with lower costs for their clients.
Bruce spent years building a durable team of shotcrete craftsmen and honing their skills. When Forcine presented him with the offer of acquisition, he trusted them with what he had built. Bruce explained that he “was still really enthusiastic about both the shotcrete and the drilling, but the development of [these tools] from one person without additional funding is a challenge”.
Scaling innovation
Forcine embraced the potential of these techniques, enthusiastic about the curious spirit of innovation that defined R&W Concrete’s legacy. They’ve since completed work utilizing these techniques to great success:
- Stabilization of a 50-foot-tall retaining wall
- Underpinning of a historic 1850s church
- Remediation of a failing culvert
Working together, the operational scale and structure of Forcine has expanded R&W Concrete Inc.’s shotcrete and hollow bar anchor capabilities across a larger footprint, allowing them to execute advanced solutions with greater speed and precision.
