Shotcrete
A high-velocity concrete placement method.
Shotcrete is concrete propelled through a hose and nozzle. This placement method creates consolidation upon impact and strong cohesion to the applied surface, ideal for vertical and overhead applications.
As an alternative to traditional methods, shotcrete excels in projects where access is limited, formwork is complex, and removal of existing structures would be inefficient or, at times, impossible.
LIMITED ACCESS
Material delivery, placement, and proper consolidation are a challenge when access is limited with traditional cast-in-place work. Shotcrete removes that constraint, allowing concrete to be placed where direct access isn’t feasible.
FAILING STRUCTURES
Cracks, scours, design errors, and time can all cause a structure to degrade. Shotcrete is an adaptable solution that bonds to existing surfaces, restoring integrity without the need for full removal and replacement.
UNSTABLE GRADES
Unsupported excavation, water erosion, and high embankments compromise slope stability and increase the risk of failure. Shotcrete can be applied directly to an exposed face to bind loose material and secure the grade.
CHALLENGING FORMWORK
One-sided applications, complex curves, and overhead placements can be labor intensive and inefficient using traditional cast-in-place methods. Shotcrete requires little to no formwork, making it a practical approach to intricate geometries and architectural features.
